Live fully in the moment present, Partner Tree pose, Christmas Tree Pose

The other day during a children’s yoga workshop , i was quite surprised when  one child didn’t want to colour in the mandala!  I asked him why. He replied that he didn’t colour well & so was afraid of the bad grade he would get !
I explained that there is no «grading» in Yoga! What is most important is that he enjoys what he’s doing & does his best.Colouring mandalas  & doing yoga calms the mind, improves concentration and boosts confidence. Whatsmore through yoga, children & adults alike,  can learn how to manage stress in daily life.
As it’s christmas I want to share this partner yoga pose with you. Doing yoga with a partner- your children, your sister, brother, friend, parent or "partner" is a wonderful way to share a beautiful experience this christmas. Double Tree will greatly benefit your posture, balance  and open your hips. Have some festive fun with the christmas tree pose with your family....
Double Tree Pose
Stand side by side with your partner and wrap your arm around the other’s waist. Ground through the standing leg. Use your other hand to place your outer foot on the inside of your calf or thigh. As you find your balance place the palms of your hands together. Focus on balance and growing together. Breathe , slowly & deeply for 1 to 12 breaths. Change legs & repeat.
Double «Christmas» Tree pose
One person stands in full Tree pose or two people in Double Tree pose.
The rest of the family has a bag of christmas decorations at the ready & 30 seconds to decorate the "human" christmas tree!
