Yogavita January News
As a child I often drew a spiralling snail, was it my attraction for French food, the celtic influence or an innate understanding of cosmic energy? Symbols are everywhere, spirals, circles , triangles to name but a few. This month, we used the Mandala during the yoga for children and parents class.
Mandala, a sacred sanskrit word meaning circle, concentration or that which brings back to the centre.A precious tool these days when everything moves so fast.
Life is full of circles. Look! The sun, the earth, the moon. The eye, the pupil and the iris. A wheel, a ring, a clock. We move in circles, a circle of friends!
Children love colouring in mandalas. It is relaxing, reassuring and improve’s self confidence. Adults use them to relax or to find clarity with life projects. From a scientific point of view, the mandala is considered a neuropedagogical tool as it stimulates the right hemisphere responsible for holistic thought, creativity, intution, art and music..A mandala creates a structure within which freedom, harmony and presence can flourish.
This will be one of the themes in the upcoming children- parent yoga workshop on Saturday February 2nd. All are welcome to «yoga en ville»: There’s a chinese proverb that says «tension is who you think you shoud be, relaxation is who you really are» Come and relax, 3 nights a week in 3 different places - the classes can be in English if there is a demand.Weekly yoga for children and parents continues in association with Yakafaucon in Nansouty!
I look forward to seeing you soon
Namaste
